@jbigham @mfenner, @cameronneylon and others discussed this back in 2011 in their #beyondthepdf workshop. And I think in the discussion thread below, workflows with #rmarkdown / #QuartoPub / #pandoc are not well enough recognised. Please let's don't wait for PDF to change - it's a print preview format after all. And there are few things LaTeX is good at, other than creating PDFs in hardly reproducible ways. Heute vor 12 Jahren beim BibCamp #bib4 in Hamburg gewesen. Gerade noch mal in Notizen zur Session #BeyondthePDF geguckt. Vielleicht gibt es nichts neues unter der Sonne, vielleicht waren wir früh dran mit den Themen, vielleicht ist kaum was vorangegangen seit dem, vielleicht etwas von allem... @Fischblog meinte in der Session, Wissenschaft sollte eher wie ein Wiki funktionieren, aber "das Paper" sei halt eine Trophäe, @nichtich meinte, es müsste sowas wie Git für Autor*innen geben. Tja!
