Trying to ascertain if I'm going to have a good or bad vertigo day. I can't believe someone who was a mad tree climber and sitter on cliffs in the mountains, who has crossed highways in Bangkok, Cairo and Rome is now negotiating with herself if she's going to be able to walk across a number of road crossings without having a shaking fit today.

Dislodged ear crystals are a thing I didn't want to have to know about.

#BPPV #Benignparoxysmalpositionalvertigo -which is a misnomer because it's anything but benign if you get the falling sensation near or on a busy road.

Me: clears schedule as much as possible next week to get writing done.

The universe: sends 10000 e-mail requests to "quickly read through this".

Also as a special bonus, bout of BPPV (betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health), a.k.a. my personal carnaval ride in my own brain. (Fortunately this looks mild so I expect to be fine in a day or two but man, this is not fun).

I'm holding the line on reading; I need some focus time. Stuff can wait another week.

Where are my fellow #bppv #vertigo and #dizziness sufferers? #Meclizine sucks right? I miss being able to move my head or glancing down. Or glancing to the side.

I was experiencing symptoms of dizziness and nausea for about a month before I got diagnosed with BPPV and received treatment (medication and physical exercises).

Now that I know what it is, I'm not as worried about it, but still annoying and a disruption in my life.

The treatment involves having to do certain movements to basically try to send those crystals back to the right position. I have to do it on the bed. 😔

Started experiencing BPPV again after about 3 months of no symptoms 🥺

BPPV: benign paroxysmal positional vertigo

Inside your ears are otoconia crystals that sends signals to your brain about movement and motion, gives you a sense of balanced.

These crystals can become dislodged, and as you move around they send incorrect signals to the brain, and the eyes, causing illusions of movements or spinning, which then cause dizziness and nausea.

This condition is called BPPV.

So is a rather alarming thing to have to learn about when your loved one says they feel like they're spinning and their eyes keep sliding over and over to one side (nystagmus) and I'd just like to share info about it and confirm that properly doing this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epley_ma each time it popped up for the first day or so has fixed it and it's been weeks now.
