Gateside bricks in the Western Necropolis in the Lambhill area of Glasgow. These were made in the
Gateside Brickworks in Cambuslang, which opened in 1899. In 1963, there were six brickworks in this area (Barbauchlaw, Blantyreferme, Newton, Northfield and Gateside) producing 54.5 million bricks per year.

First Bus will withdraw Service 65 between #Glasgow City Centre and #Halfway, #Cambuslang from Sunday 13 July due to consistently low passenger numbers, making the route unsustainable. The company is reallocating resources to improve service frequency and reliability on other routes across Greater Glasgow and #Scotland. Since April, First Bus has invested over £3 million in new buses, drivers, and timetables, resulting in reliability improvements of over 30% on some services, benefiting around 63 million annual passenger journeys. Alternative routes are available for former Service 65 passengers, including services 263, 267, 18/18A, 21, 46, 64, 90, and 7A, with details on First Bus’s website. First Bus remains committed to enhancing the overall bus network to better serve its customers.

Lin and I have just had a very nice stroll around #Cambuslang Park. Nothing too heavy, but great to get out of the house for a while. Now it’s time for a pot of #coffee and some music. Does it need to be any more complex than that? We don’t think so. 🙂

Today Lin and I went out for our traditional #Hogmanay walk in and around #Cambuslang - our home town in #Glasgow. Cold, wet, and without much colour, it seemed a fitting end to 2022. Still, it was nice to experience fresh air. 🙂
