My friend @heygeorgie came up with a clever thing to do with some of my washi tape. These origami “lucky stars” are pretty easy to make, and look cool with the Celtic art washi tape.

A number of small origami stars made from Celtic art washi tape. Three use my Squared Spirals key pattern in metallic gold, deep purple, and red. Two use my first key pattern washi tape in shades of blue and metallic gold. One slightly larger star is blue with lighter blue spirals with metallic gold accents. They are scattered on a background of off-white crinkled (momigami) paper.

I made some other pencil pouches with other combinations of patterns and colors. Here is one with my endless Celtic knot print fabric in green with green cactus leather. I laser cut all the pieces for accuracy and sewed them on my vintage Elna machine.

I was inspired by the confluence of seeing some cool bags of various sorts and some important people in my orbit preparing to go back to school in a few weeks to make some pencil pouches. These are hand-sewn with the Celtic art print fabrics I designed and some eco-friendly cactus leather.

A small square (25mm and about 3mm thick) is carefully wrapped in a bright printed Celtic key or maze pattern in purple, red, and metallic gold. It sits on one edge next to a roll of washi tape with the same pattern against a background of off-white fibrous handmade paper.

I have been trying to get the colors right for the green variant of my Endless Celtic Knotwork Panel fabric print. I think this is it!

I finally got a chance to play with my new Open Press Postcard Printing Press! I cut a plate with this new knotwork frog I designed, and got some pretty good results after a little fiddling. After starting on this, I noticed that frogs seem to be bubbling up out of the collective unconscious a lot right now. I wanted to join the Open Press print exchange, but ran out of time to get prints to them. Maybe next year!
