It's been a pretty good year for me, personally. There's been some ups and downs, but no major disasters. I'm old enough now that sometimes I wake up in the morning and random body parts just spontaneously hurt, so that's been exciting.

The biggest thing, I think, was deciding to start learning to draw earlier this year. As a working adult with other obligations and hobbies, I haven't been able to focus on it quite as much as I'd like, but I'm enjoying it and am pretty satisfied with the progress I've made.

The other notable change is getting into the #Fediverse. I had poked around on Mastodon a couple years ago but never got into it, but Twitter's ongoing meltdown made me take another look. #Calckey immediately hooked me, and after using that for a bit I decided to make my own instance (hello to the couple other people who hang out here with me!), and uhhh Calckey rebranded to #Firefish like two weeks after I made my instance, so that was weird.

It's not without its own issues, but in general I've found it to be a much more pleasant environment than Twitter, so it's a little disappointing that most of the people I know on Twitter are still hanging out inside a burning building. It's been nice meeting everybody here, though! I'm looking forward to spending more time with you over the next year. It is genuinely nice to have an online community that is not ruled by corporate overlords who want to sell my profile to advertisers and feed me a stream of ads.

Oh yeah, I also went to #Anthrocon! I've been going to anime / video game conventions for >20 years and have honestly been feeling a bit burned out on the last few I've attended, but I went to AC this year -- solely because #CyberConnect2 was doing a panel there -- and loved it. I've already got a ticket for next year and am planning to go back. So I guess this year also marks then point where I transitioned from "I sure do like #furry art a lot" to "fine, screw it, I'm a furry."

All right, my cats want dinner, so I should wrap this up. I don't have any specific resolutions, just gonna try to keep moving things forward next year. #NewYear
