#God continued to extend out hope for #restoration for #Israel. But God wanted Israel to understand one thing perfectly well: He would act for the sake of His name in so doing.

Israel acted corruptly; Ezekiel compared it to the #defilement of a woman's period. Israel was still bringing dishonor on the name of God in their behavior during the #exile.

Thus God would not restore them because of anything good they had done. God would act for His own sake.
