Truly a heartbreaking interview but also one with an underlying current of hope that he's finally found a way to talk about his trauma. May his new-found personal insights lead him to peace and free him up to do what he loves.
What I hope comes out of this #Dele interview is that we stop trying to hold players to this idealised notion of what a career should be. Players are real people, not just a set of stats on an FM spreadsheet.
