During the last decade between 55 - 117 people drown in the #GreatLakes per year, usually more than half in Lake #Michigan. Many of these are boating or misadventure, but enough of them are #drownings when #swimming for beachgoers to be aware of rip-currents. All of the Great Lakes are more than big enough to create these currents, which can rapidly draw a swimmer away from shore, and many beaches no longer have lifeguards.
