Before I attempt it, does anyone have tips on removing that white paint without messing up the text underneath it?

These disassembly scalpels might have given me a lust for power.

PCB still in its case. There is a big SD card holder, AAA battery holder, a rotary encoder, microUSB port, SIGMATEL DSP chip, other small chip with "dot 5 53" painted on it, and a bunch more components.

PCB removed from case, kinda dusty in spots. There is an LCD, a Samsun flash chip, buttons, and what seems to be a tiny battery.

Close up of mystery component with white paint on it that says ". 5 53", maybe it's supposed to read as 0.553?
The only fully visible text is TPG05492.
