#earlymediaeval

During yesterday's road trip I ended up doing some #Pictish stone captures en route including the seriously odd Class II cross slab at Migvie. The cross and three symbols are now clear as is the possibly reworked horseman on the back.#StandingStoneSunday #earlymediaeval

From my paper in "Able Minds and Practised Hands", this is a #3d #laserscan from 2002 of St. Orland's Stone, a #Pictish #earlymediaeval cross slab. How to make carvings clearer by stopping the sun's ability to cast shadows! 😃

For my ever-increasingly loose interpretation of #StandingStoneSunday, another carved stone from the #Whithorn collection. This is WHP.EC.19 scanned in 2004. #3d #laserscan #earlymediaeval

For #StandingStoneSunday (and my increasingly loose interpretation of the tag), the WHP.EC.13 stone from the #Whithorn collection. Reused at some point... #earlymediaeval (not #Pictish)
