Ruiz's adult fairytale has no city nor pirates but crazy colors, incomprehensible plot and Anne Alvaro's long, emotionless face. It has something to do with Ophelia complex and being trapped by family, gender, history, time.… I find the equivalent to Ruiz’s dreamlike lucidity only in writings of Proust. He left countless disintegrating home movie reels. #JoséLuisGuerin, using some of the footage & reenacting scenes with actors, makes an utterly captivating film. It is obvious that Guerin is playing w/genre and form. This whatsit works on many levels. There is no dialog. I made a hashtag list #introduction but I wanted to make one strictly for #film. I enjoy the obvious good #movies I also enjoy the dumb ones, the ridiculous ones that we struggle to understand why they were made. I watch #experimentalfilms. I’m a huge #indiefilm fan. Anything weird, off the wall, disgustingly gagworthy, I’m there! I #supportwomeninfilm , #supportindiefilm , #blackpeopleinfilm , #diversityinfilm and #disabledactors. I really want to see a lot more disabled people in film.

I really enjoyed Hollis Frampton's Nostalgia. His out of order narrations as he burns each photographs on an electric stovetop was at once whimsical and self-reflexive.

The physicality of materials which automatically makes them nostalgic in our eyes in the modern world, in this case photographs with stories attached to them, and ritual of burning them one by one while giving it slightly out of sync context really spoke to me. #hollisframpton #experimentalfilms #cinema #experimental #nostalgia
