She was named Inambari after the river in Peru on whose banks she was conceived. Her parents had skipped out on college and come prospecting, two gringos side by side with the locals, poisoning themselves and the environment with mercury and marveling at the glinting nuggets they were retrieving--and entertaining themselves with sweaty sex after sunset.
Inambari had dark eyes with golden #flecks around the perimeter of the iris. Inambari's gold, her parents said.
