I am not happy with the idea of storing object trees in documents and I am not really convinced #gemtalk will ever come up with a working and *supported* IDE.

I am sceptical about "develop in pharo, deploy in #Gemstone". How do you debug situations that need production data?

But maybe I just don't have enough phantasy to imagine this could work well.
Or maybe I just haven't met the right people who show me how they do it?

Looking at persistence options for #Pharo #Smalltalk today. I previously used voyage to save to #MongoDB . it worked fine.

I always wanted to use #GemTalk #GemStone, but by the time I got to persistence, I didn't have it in me to dig into that rabbit hole.

I think i will do that FIRST this time.
