📍Gin Lovers, Lisbon. 2025.

The issues at Newark Liberty had me stay an extra night in Lisbon, which is how I ended up here. Gin Lovers, as it's name implies, is a gin bar/ restaurant located in an old moorish/mudejar palace in the Principe Real neighborhood of Lisbon.

This bar has a full cocktail menu but the bartenders are explicitly gin nerds and you'll only really see their personality come out when you start talking to them about the gins. They have about 20 or so different varieties and also distill their own brand in-house (the batch I sampled was pepper forward but very yummy).

Transit delays always suck, but this place was delightful and did a lot to inflate my mood 😋

Gin bars are basically honey traps specifically designed for me. Fun fact, gin became popular in India during British Raj because the tonic used in a g & t contains quinine, which has anti-malarial properties. Bangalore, 2023.
