Kaagman has been decorating blank walls and garage doors with colorful patterns, figures, and texts, since the 70’s, giving the public area a more vibrant appearance. 🦄🙌

The “Nieuwe Amstelbrug” is a double iron bascule bridge, designed by Berlage. Its approach spans were made of rolled steel beams (later rebuilt in concrete) to support heavy traffic and trams. 🌉🚋🚛

The bridge’s mechanism was electrically powered from the start, and construction finished in 1️⃣9️⃣0️⃣3️⃣ (although the inscription says 1902). 🚧
