First of six units begin generating power at B.C.’s Site C dam

vancouver.citynews.ca/2024/10/

Construction of Site C project was launched in 2015 under Christy Clark’s B.C. Liberal government and it has seen cost estimates spike from up to $6.6 billion in 2007 to $16 billion in 2021.

The project continued under former BC NDP Premier John Horgan after he said the dam needed to be finished despite his party not supporting the start of construction in the first place.

@keith
In 2017, #MediumBloggers also pumped altcoins that went the way of the dodo.

Be careful with what you put out.

Also govts give permits to energy producers, so look at how the energy is produced.

#HydroEnergy is not entirely evil, also. Would you rather energy just be wasted?

A lot of the antiBitcoinHysteria has hallmarks of antiRussian and antiChina hysteria.

Disclaimer: We are not ElonMusk fans due to his contract with so-called "defense".

@rosano
These stats are false alarm. No context if even true.

#CambridgeUniversity debunked tropes like this. Also #bitcoin consumption is designed to go down post #BitcoinMaximalism, and changes based on total energy available.

Focus on where the energy is coming from, #renewables like hydro.

Anyone here against #hydroEnergy to secure an entire global finance system to replace the even-more-destructive, #growthObsession fueled by a #fiatCurrency system?

Didn't think so :)
