Vor etwa zwei Jahren kaufte ich über Apple Books das Buch "Per Anhalter durch die Galaxis" auf Deutsch in der kompletten fünfteiligen Trilogy.

Dann eines schönen Tages, als ich das Buch lesen wollte, war es plötzlich verschwunden und ich fand nur die englischsprachige Fassung, welche ich hätte erneut kaufen müssen.

Das Buch befand sich jedoch auf meinem Mac.

Nun, dank SYNC habe ich das Buch wieder auf iPhone & iPad. Freude 😃

@jsnell Agreed- I doubt they would want to use #Amazon's drm- and I think it's true that #iBooks only survives on the back of #Apple restrictions. That having been said- I would still like a viable alternative to the #Kindle ecosystem and I haven't found the #Kobo compelling in the UK. Thanks for your thoughts as ever.

Ich habe mir das Gesamtexemplar mal digital dort gekauft und bekomme es in Deutsch nicht in anderen digitalen Bookstores als Gesamtwerk. Nur einzeln und dann natürlich richtig teuer ... *grummel*

Ok I am annoyed enough now to have to ask: on my iPad, Books has decided for some reason to *not* download all the books; instead, I have to select one to read, and download it, and then I can read it.

I have 200+ GBYTES FREE FFS.

There doesn’t seem to be a “download all books” option.

After the latest #iPadOS update #ibooks no longer works, which means I cannot read any of my purchased books. I tried everything the web suggests, the only thing left is to downgrade to an earlier iOS version and upgrade from there. That’s a real hassle :-(

The Battle of Chickasaw Bayou was one of the more lopsided victories for either side in the Civil War. 12-13-1862 - Union defeat in Fredericksburg, VA. Gen. Brunside considered continuing the attack the next day, but was talked out of it by his subordinates.
Pennsylvanians joined the brigade, marching through Fredericksburg. Artillery shells performed tricks, bounced on the street, ricocheted off the buildings, and tore through windows. Zigzag trajectories meant survival hinged on sheer luck.
