Damit geht meine persönliche Apple-Ära dann vorbei. Als Apple auf Intel umgestiegen ist und die ersten Hackint0sh-MacOS Versionen verfügbar waren (MacOS X 10.4), bin ich nach und nach umgestiegen. Zuerst lief MacOS auf meinem damaligen Pentium 4, dem ich eine Mighty Mouse und ein Mighty Keyboard spendiert habe. 2007 habe ich mir dann einen Mac Mini zugelegt. Alsbald bin ich dann auch beruflich umgestiegen. Ich hatte Mac Minis, iMacs, MacBooks (Pro), iPhones, iPads, Watches, Keyboards, Mäuse,...
Mein letztes MacBook Pro nutzt jetzt meine Frau.

While researching how an iPad app should look, I came across this 13-year-old video of Spotify's iPad app. It reminds me how we are stuck in mobile app design.

We have achieved nothing in the last 13 years besides adding some meaningless gestures and maybe pushing a few pixels to the left or right (metaphorically).

Got an urge to play some grognard hex or RTS game on my iPad. Can’t seem to find anything that’s not pure rock-paper-scissors or F2P garbage. It’s a bit sad that this device that could work very well for games like this never caught on for this genre.

How nice. Just got a random "Unable to activate Face ID on this #iPad" after it updated to #iPadOS 26. Hard reset didn't work, reset all settings didn't work either. :')

Have you tried a 4-finger single tap at the bottom of the screen? This should ordinarily move focus down there.
If it doesn’t, then there is most certainly a problem.

I think a lot about the fact that iPads don't run a full OS so Apple can charge people twice for what's effectively the same hardware. :blobhaj_thinking:
