I'm sure this is a dumb way to test a 3.5mm stereo Y cable, but it certainly does work! Even this set up has its uses. I can "feed" both of my iCats at the same time much more quietly. But the primary idea I have in mind is hook up an iCat & a better speaker to the splitter. Then plug the splitter into an audio source. Then mute the audio output from the iCat once it starts "eating" via the tail switch. That way I can have my cake & eat it.

A black and white iCat are enjoying some music via their auxiliary ports. Cables can be seen from both of their left (our right) sides. The black iCat is on our left, white on our right.

On the black one, two LEDs are lit on its face in a short diagonal line from the center out. The center one is blue, and the one on the bottom-right of its face is red.

On the white iCat, one green LED is lit on the bottom-left of its face.

A small, black, rectangular bluetooth receiver is on, indicated by a blue LED around its only button: the power button. A 3.5mm stereo Y cable is plugged into it. On the other end of the cable, two more cables are plugged into the ports of the Y cable. On the end of one of those, you can see it connected to the white iCat.

The white iCat has 3 LEDs on its face lit in a slash pattern. From left to right, one is yellow on the bottom-left of the face. Next one is blue in the center. Upper-right is yellow.

The black #iCat came in the post recently. Here are some pictures of it together with my white one.

I took the #bluetooth transmitter & receiver device I had & tested it in receiver mode for the first time with my #iCat. Works a treat! They are enjoying the music.

I also recently purchased a black iCat. I'm looking forward to having these two together. I've always had a soft spot for them. The white one pictured here is the one I had in childhood, bought new some time in 2006 or 2007.

My actual cats be like 🙄 lol
