Currently ready “The Last Yakuza” by Jake Adelstein (Tokyo Vice) and now I’m interested in more history of mafia/gangs. Definitely seems the yakuza figured out the corporate angle far better than other gang organizations around the world.

The sudden interest in Japan and flow of money from Private Equity into Japan is the next level of “activist investors”. Not sure they are much different from or better than the yakuza
