I have been playing with #fonts for the front cover of Return of the Ripper, and I have found two that I really like.

The title text is set in GrandjeanPW. This one is inspired by the types of Philippe #Grandjean de Fouchy (1666–1714), a #French punchcutter and #type engraver.

The strapline is set in Dear Boss, a #typeface mimicing the handwriting in the "Dear Boss" letter received by #ScotlandYard in September 1888 and allegedly written by #JacktheRipper.

This is the front cover for an RPG book. Title says:

Return of the Ripper: an urban horror investigation adventure by Michael C. Davis.

Artwork is by Jeff Dee. It shows a woman arriving in a marketplace at dawn and stumbling across the body of a murder victim. The murdered woman lies at the bottom of an obelisk, which is carved with runes and hieroglyphs.

@laidbackdm You have all the classics. Against the Cult of the Reptile God was one of the first modules I ever owned and remains a favourite. I have run it many times. My copy is not in as good condition as yours.

Pharoah was another of my early AD&D experiences, but all I have left is the cover.

Some great #JeffDee cover art there on White Plume Mountain, Slave Pits of the Undercity, Tomb of Horrors, and he did interior art on quite a few of the others in your collection.

#JeffDee has completed the #coverart for Return of the Ripper for #DCC #RPG

The acrylics give the image a vibrancy that is impossible to achieve with watercolours. Jeff's use of lighting is incredible—the pale dawn light in the background; the candlelight in the foreground illuminating the hieroglyphs on the obelisk and silhouetting Suzanna's horrified expression as she makes her terrible discovery.
