We're coming to the realization our mattress may either be shite, or just not up to task for our increasingly decrepit old bodies any more

Which leaves us in the difficult position of needing to go mattress shopping, an inherently troublesome activity.

Like, I can't gauge if it's good enough from a quick lay down in the store, because a quick lay down on my couch is delightful but if I sleep a whole night on it I'll have cramps and cricks all over in the morning.

If it does turn out to not be good, we have to arrange returning it which, even when they have those 'return without worry blah blah' policies, still involves a lot of hefting and shifting that our - as previously mentioned - decrepit selves aren't really up to.

Then we have to contend with the alternative of doing it online, where it's any guess as to how many, if ANY, of the reviews are actually legitimate, how many were fished for by a 'please rate us 5 stars and we'll send you a gift card' bullshit, and how much are just out-and-out fake to try and shift shitty product.

Then there's the price tag...
