80 years ago today, the US dropped Fat Man, the plutonium-powered implosion bomb, on Nagasaki, Japan. I'm visiting Los Alamos, where the bomb was built, and today saw this replica at the lab's Bradbury Science Museum. LANL is now building replacement plutonium pits at TA-55. Heavy thoughts.

I finally, for the first time since I got my #Rivian, have actually been able to successfully use a charger in #LosAlamos #NewMexico that isn’t the painfully slow one at the nature center!

I called our local waste management company (NCSWA), and they said to check with Los Alamos County. Turns out that Los Alamos is actually have a household hazardous waste drop-off event on Friday, when they'll be accepting florescent tubes, but only from Los Alamos County residents. We live in Rio Arriba county…
