So after a small hiatus from programming had a small idea for a game based on the idea of blocking attacks with timed button presses. Made a small visual mock up of the timer, and going to try add some combat on top of that shortly. This shouldn't be a big project, haven't exactly much planned, just spitballing idea.

Broken overcast skies over shoreline, sweeping from left to right. Close on the left is a range of rocks and crystals, moving to grassland ahead but further. Most distant on the right across the water is an area of rock and sand. Behind these areas a dense pine forest separates sky from land.A similar scene but with more elevation in the distance. The foreground water is shallower with small flowering and leafy plants on the surface, submerged are light and dark blue box shaped corals.The previous scene but looking upwards into a gap in the clouds, through them the interior of the hollow planet you're in can be seen. Sea and islands curve upwards into the sky, with a large round raised platform super structure dominating the landscape. The large purple metal sides of the structure curve upwards from the sea and islands ending with a circular platform at it's apex. The platform has a white glowing ring around the outside, the area inside the ring lowers down into a bowl shape.

During the last #lispGameJam I started using fennel-ls with my love2d project. The love2d docset built by @technomancy works like a charm!

I've added a short getting started guide to the min-love2d-fennel project.

Note fennel-ls (at least as of 0.1.3) does not handle metatables. If you want to use completions use function calls directly.

Okay, my code might be genuinely cursed. I had a function I wrote but wasn't using anymore, but removing it caused the project to lag immensely. I simplified it to a single loop that calls a math function. Not looping or looping fewer times drops the FPS from 120 to 30. What's going on? #love2d #lua

There is a wall. It was nice to figure out some of the class structures and such and work through the problems that crop up here and there. I will need to deal with tile size eventually. #roguelike #GameDev #Love2D
