Over the last few days I shipped 2 major features for thecommander.app that would shock the pants off 99% of Electron apps out there:

1. Multiple windows – I just love it. I can keep all sessions in tabs or separate windows and lay out my work on the desktop however I want.

2. UI session restoration – this feels so natural. I can close the app and relaunch it at the exact moment where I left off.

Is Claude/Codex able to work in Mac/iOS apps with storyboards or XIBs? (and if so, is it only in the new #xcode integration or standalone too?) 🤔 #macdev

Here we go. Next feature: you can now set a custom icon which will be shown even after you had a different dock connected. Could be a SF Symbol or a custom image :)

xcede now uses your choice of yaml, toml or json for config files. Plus, profiles! No more mutant bash thing (well, the old config file is still supported for now).

There are other handy changes too, and don't forget the new fast build option.

Hi my name is Dan and I’m a TextKit junkie who was burned again.

For the Nth time, I’ve accidentally used NSMutableAttributedString as my text storage backing instead of NSTextStorage.

Learn from my mistakes, don’t be a victim.

Also out this week is Atlas 1.1.0 with theme customization and the theme editor for markdown documents! We are talking many weeks in planning and construction so that it's easy to use on both macOS and iOS.

Big, too: You can also resize images in the editor now, which is something I've wanted to add for so long.

There are a whole host of other additions and minor tweaks as well—it's really coming along 🥹

Yay! Fox Issue & Project Tracker 3.1.0 with initial MCP support for macOS is finally out! I've been using it as a client to work alongside Claude and it's been a nice improvement in my workflows. I am hoping to increase functionality in the next release to boost versions & milestones, too!

Otherwise, both platforms get a healthy dose of UI tweaks and bug fixes.

What I started with just wanting to improve the shell output parser turned into a rewrite of literally everything in Cork. Some of this code is from 2022, when I started Cork

The next version might as well be an entire new app :neocat_sob:

The sidebar shows “No Passes” with a note to create the first contact card, while the main area displays a teaser with three styled example cards and the headline “Create a pass that feels awesome!” along with “Create Pass” and “Show Demo” buttons, set against a forest-themed desktop wallpaper.

Don’t worry, Cork is not dead. There’s just a huge rewrite in the works of the terminal output parsing system

I’m also fighting for my life, so it’s going slower

Thank you for your patience
