@cannibal Still on my generative art nonsense. This one gives some scroll/fern vibes. The colored path are the flight of particles, and the grid is a quad tree.

#makeShitMonday, #crochet edition, in which I am finally done!!
Redid the last rows and sewed the body together last week. Got the strap rings yesterday afternoon. Sat down today, put the ring in the first tab, sewed the tab down, great!
Sewed the second tab down... And then noticed the second ring sitting on the arm of my chair, dammit. I think I have found every possible way to screw up this project! Fortunately it was relatively easy to unweave the ends, insert the ring, and re-sew the tab.
And now I am *done with this project* and can start on the hat for my brother-in-law, yay!! π
It's #MakeShitMonday! Lets see your project progress or things you've made. Anything goes!
I made a short clip showing the progression of the weight stand I designed and built. Four design iterations in cad then cut, weld, prime, and paint.

@cannibal Not too much this week, just some cookies and a bit of procedurally generated art.

I restored a vintage Singer sewing machine. Broke some stuff, fixed some stuff, but definitely learned some stuff.

#makeShitMonday, #crochet edition - in which I am going to finish this damn bag someday... But not today.
So I spent a decent amount of time working on my [Honey Moon Bag](https://www.mooglyblog.com/honey-moon-bag/) while traveling... And clearly I wasn't giving it my full attention. Because I *finally* got the second half done, and I went to attach the two halves - and if I align the tabs properly, one side is right-side-out but the other side is wrong-side-out. And my stitch count is correct, but the second side seems just slightly smaller than the first. π
(You can see this coming, right?)
I was on a plane and tired of working on it and just wanted to be done, so I pinned the two sides together anyway and figured I'd finish it up at home. Picked it up today, which is when I realized - I had skipped a row somewhere! That's why the tab isn't where it should be, that's why it's slightly undersized.... ARGH. π
Fortunately I only had to frog back four rows, and it'll be an easy fix. But maaaaaan, I was looking forward to getting this knocked out today so I can move on to the next project I have kitted, which is much more exciting! Oh, well.
@cannibal I made a path to my musc corner by putting things away! π±π€―

Making progress on the weight tree, got the plate holders welded on and the structure finished. Did a full load test and shot some paint. It should go back together today.

Making progress on the weight tree, I ran out of MIG gas and started learning TIG as a result. I should have this done by next Monday.

#MakeShitMonday, radio edition...
Rather than physical making - I made an RF connection!
I joined the local ham radio club's 6m net on Wednesday night. It's a bit of an adventure since I still have to carry my HF radio upstairs and pull a coax cable down from the attic to use either the 6m or 10m antenna I have up there.
I also got to use my new antenna tuner. Not that I *really* needed it, since both antennas are decently tuned, but it was nice to verify that it works.

Happy #makeShitMonday!
I'm still chugging along on this [Honey Moon Bag](https://www.mooglyblog.com/honey-moon-bag/) out of sheer cussedness. I finished the first side, started the second side, then realized they have to, y'know, *match*. And when I frogged back the tight version, I kept the first two rows, because I didn't want to deal with re-doing the magic ring.
So I had to get that tension right, then switch back to the looser tension, and at this point I'm just checking against the first side after every row - I don't want to have to do this *again* because it came out 1/2" larger when I was done!
And then I have to figure out a strap attachment. And a strap. But it may get parked at that point... because my brother-in-law wants a hat!!! Hats are easy. Hats are fun. Hats for people I love are double fun.
But before I get to make his hat, I am going to finish this damn bag... Or at least this side of it. π
@cannibal It felt like pie time, so small apple pies had to happen.

This week I'm making headway on the weight tree. I should hopefully have the main body completed tonight.

The bran should in theory balance the butter and sugar.
Making healthy-ish cookies. Theyβre chocolate chip with wheat bran and espresso.

For this, the last #makeshitmonday of the year, I present my week-late shit I made last Monday. I spent the day learning basic CAD and designing and ordering a battery tray for my RV to carry larger LiFePOβ house batteries.
I used onshape.com for CAD and sendcutsend.com for laser cutting and bending. Should be here in a few days.
Cheers @cannibal !!!
Fresh from the oven, todayβs pot pie! By volume, chicken is about 1/6 of the pie.

#MakeShitMonday, "We'll do it LIVE!" (aka replacing a GFCI outlet) edition...
We have an outside outlet that hasn't worked for years. I've known this and had it on my list to fix for a long time, but it just hasn't been a priority. It's a GFCI, and I suspected the GF sensing part had gone bad since I've seen that happen before.
I happened to think about this the other day when I was in a big box hardware store and picked up a replacement GFCI outlet. The weather was warm and pleasant this past Saturday, so I decided to bang out this fix so I'd have a nice win for the day.
It took a bit longer than I expected because I couldn't figure out which breaker the circuit is on. The outlet is on the outside of the living room wall, but it's not on the circuit labeled "Living Room"... and neither are the living room outlets. π I tried one other circuit then decided I didn't want to randomly turn off everything in the house to figure it out. (Making a good chart of what outlets and lights are on what circuits/breakers is a project for another day.)
I was feeling frustrated that my easy win seemed to be turning into yak shaving, so I watched a YouTube video about how to change an outlet with the power on. Didn't look too hard, so that's what I did. Carefully and methodically while wearing rubber gloves.
I succeeded, and the outlet works again! π

#makeShitMonday, back on my #crochet bullshit...
So last winter I made [scarves for @mbroome and my mom](https://infosec.exchange/@llorenzin/113824081839727708) by adapting [this lovely wrap pattern](https://www.mooglyblog.com/winged-wrap/) from one of my favorite designers.
@mbroome was complaining that he didn't have any toboggans he liked, and I had a skein plus a bit of that yarn left over, so I figured I'd try to make a matching hat. How hard could it be? π€ I started from the bottom up, with the W pattern in a circle, and just kept fitting it to his head until I got it the right size and shape...
We'd talked about putting a fleece liner into it to make it a bit warmer, but by this time it was getting into spring, so it sat around until the weather started getting cool again - at which point he went to REI and found a merino wool beanie that worked perfectly with it, and I just whip-stitched the crochet hat onto the beanie.
He wore it to Thanksgiving, and my mom liked it so much, I offered to make her one, too! (One can never have too many cute hats. And It'll be warmer than the previous hat, anyway.) Which meant I had to figure out what I had done the first time - fortunately I took *some* notes. π
@mbroome decided he wanted his hat to be just a little deeper, so it'd come further down his ears - I had him pull the beanie down where he wanted it and figured out I just needed to add a couple more rows above the decoration... And then spent most of our Christmas holiday reverse-engineering the first hat, writing out a hat pattern, and making him a newly Mike-sized version of the hat - we'll give Mom the original.
I was sewing the beanie in on our drive home and realized I probably had enough yarn to squeak out one more - and I've been looking around for a good toboggan for a while now. So I figured I'd see if I could test my pattern and make myself a new hat along the way - and I won at yarn chicken! There's just enough yarn (from the tail ends of two different skeins!) to knock out one more... π§Άπππ
I'm really happy with how the hat pattern turned out, and I'd love to post it on Ravelry - I've reached out to Tamara at Moogly for her okay, since it's based on her original pattern. Hopefully she'll be on board with that! π€π»
#makeShitMonday, #baking edition!
We made a ginormous roasted pumpkin stuffed with ground lamb, kale, and bulgur wheat a few weeks ago - and this is not a post about that. Because I kept the pumpkin guts for Christmas treat-baking... π
Today's [pumpkin-gut bread](https://eatingrichly.com/how-to-cook-a-whole-pumpkin-and-recipe-for-pumpkin-gut-bread/#mv-creation-164-jtr) is the best I've made so far - I added ground ginger, allspice, & cloves to the cinnamon & nutmeg specified in the recipe, and [Red Tail Grains' NuEast Red Wheat](https://redtailgrains.com/the-grains) is absolutely perfect for this!
