As described this is a very small linocut print of the night sky in blue with carved stars, Milky Way and a line across the sky and a line of silhouettes of evergreen trees in black along the bottom.

For the #printerSolstice prompt split complimentary I was reminded of an animal that is fuchsia, indigo & yellow. So I made some wee little prints of a strange & beautiful creature, the fuchsia flatworm (Pseudoceros ferrugineus) from the tropical Indo-Pacific. Their gorgeous colours are aposematic - a warning to predators that they are not worth eating. So they can crawl around & feed on coral reefs without concern.

Making some wee little prints of a strange and beautiful creature, the fuchsia flatworm (Pseudoceros ferrugineus) from the tropical Indo-Pacific. For the #Spacetober prompt JWST I chose how last year the space telescope gave us the clearest view of Neptune’s faint dust rings in decades, imaged for the first time in the infrared. To make my mini linocut I looked at satellite images in the visible wavelengths, so it appears its lovely blue colour and the JWST IR images to get the position of (some of) its rings. The printed area is only 3” x 6”.

A tiny linocut I made a few years ago: the red-legged grasshopper.

One of the most common grasshoppers in NA, these are the most commonly seen grasshoppers in the NE US & S Canada. Reddish-brown on their backs, yellow-green below, they are named for their orangy-red legs. In high-density, these grasshoppers can be considered a garden or agricultural pest who eat grain.

My linocut print is 7" (18 cm) by 4" (10 cm), on delicate Japanese kozo (or mulberry) paper and shows a side view of a red-legged grasshopper in pale green, grey and orange. The rectangular print is displayed on a white square background.

Might do some more small prints sometimes soon, I always thought they would look good filling any little gaps on or when you don't have a lot of space. This little is a limited edition and has a couple of other companions.
