I’m over on Threads now and getting more engagement so hope to see some new f my followers from here over there! #UoE #MSCDE @noreendunnett@threads.net
Some good articles in this special issue on 'Expanding the Boundaries of Digital Inclusion: Perspectives From Network Peripheries and Non-Adopters', including one from my #Makerere colleagues and I on #digital inclusion for #refugees in #Uganda. All open access. https://www.cogitatiopress.com/socialinclusion/issue/view/357 #digitaleducation #mscde
Not an easy read but worthwhile. 'Pluriversal Horizons: Notes for an Onto-epistemic Reorientation of #Technology' #edtech #digital #education #mscde https://audir.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/For-Incomputable-Earth-Escobar-Osterweil-Sharma-CLEAN-FINAL-single-space-1.pdf
Had a lovely chat with @weblearning yesterday running the gamut on all things #digital #education: non-institutional affiliations, balance between #open #technology and proprietary tech, #oer, the #Southafrica context, #postdigital #privilege, and examples of social publishing (African Storybook and more). Really enjoyed it Derek as did the students on the #mscde at #Edinburgh. Thanks so much: https://media.ed.ac.uk/media/1_5je9qg2u

One of my current students on #mscde (MSc in Digital Education) at #Edinburgh: https://mastercardfdn.org/ripples-of-impact-docuseries-faith-kipkemboi/. She is exceptional and an absolute joy to teach. 'Founder of Cactus Mama, a telemental health program that provides women in rural Kenya with health services during and after their pregnancy. Through Cactus Mama, Faith developed BridgeMe Mobile and Web App, platforms that connect clients to teletherapy, person-centered, affordable, and quality care.' #kenya

Cool that the University of #Edinburgh (specifically EFI, Creative Informatics and CDCS) is collaborating with #Flickr on their 100 year plan. https://www.cdcs.ed.ac.uk/events/flickr-foundations-100-year-plan #mscde #digital #education #futures

Making my way through the materials developed by @sbayne @jaross and myself that extend the Near Future Teaching project (2017-2019) at the University of #Edinburgh into a post-pandemic place (hopefully). Full materials available soon for this interested in #futures #digital #education #mscde
Competing Logics in an #ICT4D Partnership: Case Evidence from Indonesia: 'exploring the interplay of logics within an international organization-local public sector partnership. Results show that the “accountability logic”of the international organization (WHO) conflicted with the “hierarchical” public sector logic of the ministry.' Perhaps this goes without saying, but these types of partnerships are really challenging precisely due to these different logics. #mscde #Indonesia #digital

My answer to this is a strong yes. Worth a read as are most of #NORRAG posts. "EdTech’s precarious futures: are there material limits to data-driven higher education?" https://www.norrag.org/edtechs-precarious-futures-are-there-material-limits-to-data-driven-higher-education/ #edtech #diged #mscde
Anti-Racist Curriculum Project: A project I am involved in has developed a range of materials and reflections on an anti-racist curriculum. Designed for Scottish HE but definitely applicable across the sector. https://www.enhancementthemes.ac.uk/en/resilient-learning-communities/equality-diversity-and-inclusion/anti-racist-curriculum-project #highereducation #antiracism #mscde
Learning Equality Deployment Map: a map of projects engaging with Kolibri, an open LMS with online/offline functionality that can run in low resource environments. I find these projects inspiring so worth a bit of your time if interested in #openedtech #edtech #diged #mscde https://learningequality.org/ka-lite/map/. We used it with displaced populations in #Uganda and worked like a charm.
