Hey #devs I have a question. #DecapCMS or #staticcms? I used #NetlifyCMS on a bunch of projects fueled by hope fo a Git based CMS but its been ok'ish. Do I stick with the what I know and I'm using or do I venture out?

working with #eleventy and #decapcms (former #netlifycms ) is pretty awesome
With one exception the use of the word collections
one is a collection of data the other is a contentype / pagetype kinda thingie
Naming stuff is hard
#TailwindCSS Typography was ok to install, but it was a bit of a struggle to rearrange my blog layout to work with the changed margins and new spacing.
but aside from that, I can now style blog posts from within #NetlifyCMS
So, #NetlifyCMS got a new name a couple of weeks ago: #DecapCMS. But right before Netlify announced the new owner/name, a community fork called #StaticCMS was created. And – compared to Decap CMS which is still mostly dormant – the fork actually put a lot of work in and is about to release a new major version v2 in about two weeks. I'm really excited for this new version to be a proper successor to #NetlifyCMS. https://github.com/StaticJsCMS/static-cms #CMS #WebDev #Jamstack #StaticSiteGenerator
Oh well now I understand why #Netlify decided to abandon #NetlifyCMS. #Gatsby #WebDev https://www.netlify.com/press/netlify-acquires-gatsby-inc-to-accelerate-adoption-of-composable-web-architectures/
Dang! Baru tahu ada NetlifyCMS. Asli, asyik kayaknya kalau pakai ini 😳

#NetlifyCMS
The demise of #NetlifyCMS is really a shame. It's such an important project and there are no real alternatives. I hope that one of the community forks will be successful #WebDev #CMS
Some hero have forked #netlifycms and is bringing it up to date - the glory of foss
That was a pretty ok year #netlify & #netlifycms
react is everywhere sigh
trying to figure out how to do custom previews in #netlifycms for my #eleventy based websites
(componenet based markdown n stuff - its rad)
Wheres the "load this template and map your variables like this"
Wonder if some edge functionality can do some magic
We're in the process of dropping self-hosted #netlifycms and building a custom one. Set up a static web server for all our #svelte web apps to bypass the build process when clients making changes through a CMS.
3/5
@paulmsmith that looks interesting. I like the idea of using #micropub to make publishing a post easy. I’ve been using #eleventy which is neat, though I’d like to be able to preview and publish posts in the cloud, so I might explore something like #netlifycms or micropub if it works with eleventy
@kev I use Hugo and Netlify, and enjoy the work flow. That being said, the time I had #NetlifyCMS running it was difficult to modify the template to accurately preview the posts. I eventually just abandoned NetlifyCMS and went straight to editing posts on the terminal and git.
I am curious to see how your experience is with NetlifyCMS. If you value the ability to edit content on a web interface, my vote is still with WordPress.
Good luck!
https://github.com/davidak/davidak.de#deployment
Hugo)
