does anyone in the #neuropsych space know of any research looking at differences between watching live action television vs animation? (specifically WRT neurotransmitters & arousal)

I can't help but be angry. People have been recommending that I get a #neuropsych evaluation done. From what I can tell, it basically only benefits me in regard to stupid-ass #SSA. As someone who's been told to eat shit repeatedly over my lifetime, & has gone through the pain of basically doing my own #rehab for 2 #TBIs, I'm livid. Ah, NOW people "care". Right. The benefit isn't nothing, but it rings incredibly hollow. You can be dying and SSA will insist all the docs are wrong. 🙄 #NEISvoid

@sheislaurence I think the brain research is fascinating too. Especially as regards #graymatter. I noticed when hubby goes out, it’s such different feeling in the empty house (not that I don’t love it) 😳🤣 #homealone #lonely #neuroscience #neuropsych

Going to talk to the referring doc about this, of course, but:

I was referred for a neuro-psych evaluation, but was informed I can't be allowed to have my caregiver present, which is an #accomodation I desperately need to get through this testing.

Any #advice or #tips on how to make this happen? It's literally not a choice for my situation.

GABA: γ-Aminobutyric acid — perhaps the most important acronym every educator should know.

In '94, we tested our 3D control devices on my 9 and 11 year olds. Typically, our adult test subjects would reach perfect score in 5-10 minutes, so we sampled every 30 seconds.

My kids reached perfect score, on all devices, by the first sample. Had we known, we could have sampled thirty times a second!

@chasdebrus Terrific points! I also like the idea of reframing how we perceive happiness-- it's the trip, not the destination. And because negative experiences are more "sticky" than positive ones, we need to consciously spend more time focusing on and savoring the good ones. The Happiness Hypothesis by Jonathan Haidt is another good resource.

Anyone involved in #mentalhealth, #neuropsych or neuro eval/treatment of #athletes, please feel free to contact me.

As of 2022, my clinical treatment practice is pretty much limited to treatment of active & inactive/retired pro athletes.

I'm always looking to connect with others working in this area for discussion, different types of collaboration

I'm not looking for referrals to increase my practice but I often have to make referrals throughout the US.
