Mikawa is incapable of laughing.
Takiyasha-tenno is technically capable of laughing, but I doubt she ever does. The show of emotions is unbecoming of an Empress. A light nod might indicate her amusement.

“It’s ironic… you hated me for not returning Sayaka-san’s feelings, and hated Haru because she might.” As soon as it was out of her mouth, Touko regretted it. It was rather an oblique way of answering the question, and one was likely to antagonize Arisu.
Arisu must have missed the full meaning of the statement. Instead of rising to the bait, she pressed Touko with a difficult but reasonable question. One that sounded less like a challenge and more like a genuine question. “Well, what would you do if you thought someone was going to steal Yuu-san away from you?”

Shishi: It's a mutual quest.
Tomo: Too late to ask that. I'm in it now, whether I want to or not. That was my choice, of course.

Shishi: The world is pretty fucked. I was an unwanted daughter. I fought my way into a career as an idol and lost it because I was queer,. I got into debt while working as a hostess and was sold to my last girlfriend, who dead is now trying to kill me so I can be with her. I never loved her, I was her possession. Ume and Maiyoi are the only good things that have ever happened to me.
Their is more, but fuck if care to waste my time telling it.

After deeper thought the cleverest MC is Ume. The problem is she seldom applies it to anything but her writing. Instead depending on the more practical Tomo or Kan-chan.

MCs: No idea, they all have their intellectual strengths. But if they need hardcore no-nonsense planning or advice it' Kan-chan they turn too.
Other characters: Mikito-sensei and Takiyasha-tenno.

Shishi: I would probably cry. There is a saying: "Once an idol always an idol." That me.

Ume: Nothing always makes me laugh. Slap stick silents come closest. But I like Tomo's humor best even if it hurts sometimes.

* My first novel attempt. (Incomplete)
* Also, my first Steampunk story. (Popular but terrible)
* The sequel to the first completed novel went nowhere.
* Time Traveling Ghost got retconed.
And lots of things that never saw the light of day and never will.
As a series writer, I'm pretty careful now. You don't want something that will take a year to a year and a half to complete to be something you hate. With serials, you can't just do a rewrite, and it's bad form to drop them.

All of them have quirks. You would have to be a special person to bring out the lovable in Shishi. Tomo is what you call a diamond in the rough; you have to get to know him. Kan-chan is closed in, not many people can get through her protective shell.
All in all, hard.

Ume: Depends on what. I mean Shishi is my girlfriend so if it effects her then her. Tomo has got his feet on the ground and cares about the family, so he is a possiblity. Or Kan-chan, if it's really difficult she's be best one or If the others will be worried about huritng my feelings, she the one. She doesn't hold back. But what she says is pure gold.
Maybe I should ask for some advice on this question.

Tomo is the clumsiest socially, and Kan-chan interpersonally.
None of my characters are physically clumsy. There is nothing in my text to give the slightest hint. Shishi is the most graceful as a dancer, but is as far as it goes,.
# PennedPossibilities 736 — MC POV: Do you or did you once admire your parents? Who do you admire today?
Ume: Hah, a status-seeking mother who only saw me as a merit badge to wear and a weak-kneed father who spent his time at the race tracks to escape my mother.
The only person I think I admire is Sensei, who is about the only person I know that really cares about others.

I read an endless stream of light novels. I would only recommend that to an author who was going to write light novels. Otherwise, I have no reading recommendations.
