![news item from the Boston Herald:
Coolidge has raccoon; probably won't eat it.
Washington, November 26
A full grown male [sic] raccoon, the gift to President Coolidge of an admirer in Mississippi, was received at the White House yesterday and is safely domiciled in a crate in a warm room in the White House cellar. Mr. Coolidge has never been known to eat raccoon meat. The animal was sent north on the theory that it would grace the White House table at one of the holiday dinners. The chances are that this particular raccoon will be sent to Rock Creek Zoo. It was sent to the President by Vinney Joyce of Nittauma, Mississippi.](https://files.mastodon.social/cache/media_attachments/files/113/550/980/785/004/962/small/31e568e75a322aa6.png)
