Jacques Tati's Playtime was filmed between 1964-1966.

Tati wanted to shoot in existing locations but he faced some problems impossible to solve. He then decided to make his own set, on the plateau de Gravelle, a waste ground of 15,000m² near Paris ...
A city-studio was born made of escalators, large housing estates, buildings (whose facades are only photographs) mounted on rails, asphalt streets and an airport terminal.
