Maybe Mastodon has to be pushed actively at the conference.
The last conference I went to was the Software Engineering Camp (@swec) in Fürth, Germany with around 60 people and there were some toots here on Mastodon. But I was asked to provide a @glacier Installation, so we had a social wall there we ate, in the main room and in the entrance.
So people were actively encouraged to use it.
At the @OSCo we had also a glacier social wall and many wrote toots. But both are bar camp format.

#osco24 is over, and while I’m tired, I’m also happy.

Looking back, I can say it was a fantastic experience made possible by the participants.

I participated in fascination sessions and missed many more. The contributions from those outside of #cybersecurity brought insightful and surprising perspectives.

Although #osco24 didn’t have an official theme, one clearly emerged for me in hindsight:

OSCO 2024 - Security for All.

Which by chance also is one of the @OSCo values 🙂

But the #osco24 was great. I met so many great people interested in #infosec, learned new stuff and could help others with public key infrastructure.

I hope all participants enjoyed it as much as I did and have a safe trip home.

Next time, I will take a different transportation system. Overall it was quite exhausting, to do it this way.

The first train home, didn't have enough space. I waited at the train station for the next one.
I met some people of osco, who waited for other trains. Good luck on your journey.
It was hard to get in.the next train. But people were really nice in that train and tried to walk around the bike trailer. And the train was so full, that bo conductor came.
Now I'm in Würzburg and I only had to go to the other side of the platform.
I got a free bicycle compartment. So the last hour of the train journey with a bicycle and trailer will be comfortable.
