I don't know who here need to learn that except maybe #plottermastodon but the Panasonic RK-P200C plotter is able to be controlled by a computer since it has a RS-232/serial DE-9 connector. 300 bauds/s is advertised but maybe we could go higher (like 2400bps as the RK-P400C).

The main differences with the top of the shelf model which is the RK-P400C are
- no radar graphic abilities
- smaller memory (2KiB vs 4)
- smaller display (16 character display vs 24)
- 9 character sizes (vs 10)

The optionnal RP-K100 adaptor is a parallel to serial interface (or serial to serial passthrough) with some buffer memory to be plugged between the computer and the 200C/400C plotter. It requires RP-K110/K111 serial cables which are the same except for some internal cabling I guess (null modem vs crossover cable?)

What I'd like to have:
- a picture of a 400C motherboard and components
- a ROM dump of the 400C

What I'd like to try:
- if the motherboards are the same I'd like to swap the ROM of the 200C with a ROM of the 400C to add new abilities
- enlarge internal memory from 2 to 4KiB+

Well if you have a Panasonic RK-P400C and are good with a soldering iron do #PenPlotter a favor and dump the ROM!

If you aren't confortable with tweaking your 400C, pictures of the internals would be a nice start!
