This palm is NOT a palm. It's a succulent, it stores water on the bottom of the trunk (the foot). One of my ultimate favorite ones. Native to my home country Guatemala, México and Belice.

I started talking to Gorgo, my ponytail palm, in an effort to inspire growth through companionship.

It’s going ok so far…usually after the first month, the only thing I’m saying to a plant is “I’m sorry”.

I’m usually terrible with plants, so I haven’t had any in years. But this Ponytail Palm stole my heart at the store. She has so much personality; I just had to have her.
