Since the last time I got sent to a lake-front property to meet a client I ended up sitting on the side of a private drive with my hazards on, trying to find out if I was in the right place, this time I said, "I don't come from 'lake house people'," and got real directions.
Definitely not shady, sitting in a private drive waiting for someone this time.

I just told my client the story of how me & my brothers wanted to dress up for our first #Halloween together as family of ghosts. My parents had no money & it was rainy for our Halloween so the cloth ghost costumes were tossed. My parents put us into large cutout shiny black garbage bags. I told people we were ninja ghosts(first 30 minutes of trick o treating). Almost everyone looked at us like we were hella poor kids(we were!) & they had no idea why 3 little Asian kids showed up in black garbage bags, on their doorsteps. I changed my script up & fully took advantage of people feeling sorry for us, in our garbage bags. I started telling people who asked me what we were - We are the walking ghosts of poor people, who you ignored for every day but Halloween! We can't afford costumes.
Our bags were all loaded up extra - when I changed our door knocking scripts. Sometimes, it pays off very well, as a poor kid, on Halloween, to be honest & fully own your poverty. Privileged folks will dump almost entire candy bowls into your bag!
