Looking for a replacement for HSR has been tricky. I don’t care for active games on touchscreens, and traditional turn-based RPGs are surprisingly hard to find. I’m also hampered by my phone thinking I’m in Europe and not letting me use my US gift card money.
So a suggestion was Reverse: 1999 was made. It is turn based, though with cards. Though more in the Steam World Quest kind of way where characters have 3 cards and your hand is made up by what characters you field. The story is alright. The localization leaves something to be desired. It’s got all the Gatcha elements for good or ill.
We’ll see if I hang around with it.

I’ve been playing a lot of #Reverse1999 lately, and I’ve finally caught up with the main story! :frog_celebrate:
I loved chapter 8, but unfortunately, I could tell I was missing something, which I think is the limited event with Argus. Characters kept referring to what happened in Texas, and there’s a character we were supposed to know, but I didn’t.
I’m often feeling like I’ve missed bits here and there, but chapter 8 felt like I had skipped a whole chapter *in the main story*!
Given that limited events will eventually be available in game, it would be a shame to watch them on YouTube, but at the same time, if I had to wait until the Texas event is added to Reflections to do Chapter 8, it would take months before I catch up. So I decided to give up on the chronology, finish the “main” story first, and do the events as they’re added to the game.
