This is what I was looking for in the Rhododendron Park in Haaga: the rhodondendron species native to Finland – the marsh Labrador tea. In Finnish, it's called "suopursu". It's tiny compared to the other, flashier rhododendrons of my previous post, but I root for the little guy. The marsh Labrador tea is known for its peculiar, a bit pungent, and sometimes headache-inducing smell. If you have ever waded through marshland in Finland or anywhere else in the Arctic, you probably know it.
