Two pictures of the ring riding event, last weekend in Vlissingen.
Ring riding is a folk sport, mainly played in the province of Zeeland, particularly on the former island of Walcheren. The goal is to catch a ring on a wooden lance, while the horse rider gallops along the track.
The ring hangs in an iron bus in the middle above the track. The diameter of the ring is 38mm, but during the game it shrinks to 10mm. And still the best riders got them!
