Auch im kommenden Sommersemester wird wieder unsere Vorlesung „Praxisbezogene Einführung in das #Migrationsrecht“ an der Heinrich-Heine-Uni #HHU #Düsseldorf stattfinden. Die Vorlesung dient der Vorbereitung für die Tätigkeit als Berater*in für die Refugee Law Clinic #RLC, steht aber auch allen anderen Menschen offen, die sich für das Migrationsrecht interessieren. Änderungen bleiben vorbehalten.

#Mattel has sold all 30000 (or however many) cars, so they shipped their product and got their money, why would they spend more money on a better system that in the long run only has a negative impact on the sale's bottom line?

If I drop out of the #RLC, the impact on #Mattel is precisely zero. They'll still sell out their 30K units or whatever. I'll still not have all the cars I want (although I'll buy some on the resale market for inflated prices).

But this bullshit with the reCAPTCHA is even worse than the #RLC pink skyline that played peek-a-boo with everyone's checkout carts for 45 minutes. It's a constant tease, the constant hope that maybe this time we'll bypass the check... and then no.

And the thing of it is there is absolutely zero motivation for #Mattel to do anything about it. No matter what they do, popular cars are going to leave some people unhappy, that's just math.

...objects in their scope, so is that blur of pixels a bicycle or something else? do you have to include the hand rails when selecting the stairs? (my guess was no.) Even on my 22-inch screen the pictures in the reCAPTCHA were borderline useless. I don't remember it being that way.)

When it comes to the #RLC car, if I lose out for what I'd consider a legitimate reason, I'm not mad. Late to the party? My fault. Unlucky once I get into the checkout queue? I can live with that.
