Massive kudos to Fluffy Audio for the great orchestral strings #VIs #SampleLibraries https://muz4now.com/2023/first-snow-a-suite-of-snowy-sweetness/#h-technology-kudos
I said I wouldn't buy any libraries this Black Friday season, but I'm wavering. The three things I'm missing the most – a better string quartet, an intimate string section and a choir – damn you, 8Dio!

This might be fun. I love a good scoring challenge.
"Rescore our 3 minute launch film from the ground up, using any sample libraries and live instruments you want."

#SpitfireAudio 's #BBCSymphonyOrchestraDiscover is now free, and I tested it earlier this month. I worked the sound a bit, attempted a retro-smooth Ormandy/Philadelphia style.
Cons:
- No legato patches
- No mutes
- No round robin
- Limited dynamics
- One mic pos.
Pros:
- The programming and mic is excellent!
- Instantly decent sound – incredible for 200MB
- Possibly my new favourite tool for sketching out orchestral ideas quickly
Chances are, nobody wants to hear my rant about the lack of #MusicalDiversity in #SampleLibraries.
Which is a good reason to start it here. ;-)
Sounds to me like samples/loops/clips are part of a trend. Native Instruments just launched Sounds.com after Noiiz.com ramped up its own service. LoopMasters will update Loopcloud soon and Splice is being discussed a fair deal.
But they’re all about massive amounts of very similar samples.
