I still can’t get over the people over here that jumped on me with “but personal data” when I showed how #SBB allows one to conveniently use location of the phone to buy best possible (train) tickets retrospectively.
Sorry, you can’t just wave the word “#privacy” in the air like magical wand to scare off people from things that you dislike and clearly don’t understand.
That weakens the point of conversation around privacy. IMO.

Was tragen die #sbb Schaffner eigentlich in ihrem roten Handtäschchen spazieren? Dachte erst er bringt etwas zum Tf, aber auf dem Rückweg hat er es immer noch in der Hand.

Gebaut für ein Land in dem man keine langen Fahrten absolviert, entsprechend mit kleinem bis mittleren Reisegepäck unterwegs ist und Sitzplätze nicht reserviert werden.

-> unbequeme, enge Sitze
-> enge Gänge, wenig Gepäckablage
-> keine Reservierungsanzeige

Im deutschen Fernverkehr mangelhaft.

After six trains today, I arrived in Basel SBB exactly on time. Cerbère–Avignon Centre–Valence Ville–Genève–Renens VD–Biel/Bienne–Basel SBB. Now I have 2 h to wait for the night train to Hamburg.

I thus managed to cross France twice without using any mandatory reservation TGV or IC trains. Ventimiglia–Nîmes–Cerbère and Cerbère–Genève. And it wasn’t painful at all. #Interrail

I got access to the SBB-FREE Wi-Fi from the ticket sales people. They seemed very used to helping people with this. I don’t understand why the login page doesn’t mention that it works only for Swiss mobile numbers. A serious blotch on the otherwise brilliant way how everything works here in Switzerland. Shame on you #SBB .

Had some expensive sausages and beer in the nice dining car between Biel/Bienne and Basel. #beerontrains

The last run of the rake currently used on #EuroCity #163 #Transalpin. For the last time, it's a mixed consist of ÖBB 🇦🇹 and SBB🇨🇭cars. It includes the last #ÖBB full 40-seat #DiningCar where I enjoy breakfast. From tomorrow's timetable change on, the consist will essentially be composed of #SBB cars.
