Most people see news items like this pass through their awareness one by one, over the course of months or years, and see them as isolated, unrelated that don't affect them. "It's just a temporary blip. Somebody will figure it out. If I ever need chemotherapy, I'm sure things will be fine by then."
But people with #SentinelIntelligence see these for what they are: the canaries in the coal mine of modern society.
More succinctly: people who are paying attention know we're all fucked.

@renwillis I didn't laugh at Trump. I confess I didn't anticipate the magnitude of white backlash to Obama, but it was clear to me by early 2016 where we were headed, and I've been pretty much hopeless ever since. The Civil War never ended. It just got colder for a while, and it's going to get a lot hotter and a lot of people are going to unnecessarily suffer and die before we can start bending the arc back in the right direction. #SentinelIntelligence is a bitch.
