to get sovereignty back for #european tech i would promote that we should get back to known tech #nocloud #lessDynamicWeb #simpleweb #ssr #lessJS

Why cause with simple tech we can build fast and use stuff thats available. For dynamic web e.g you need a modern browser engine that is hard to reimplement in the open and gecko and chromium aren't that great due to the fact that its big corporations behind it.

Furthermore simple tech makes you able to stay out of the cloud and enables you to host in on your systems. And several other benefits

🌤️ Previsioni meteo senza JavaScript, Cookie, tracker, noiosissimi popup e caricamenti?

Enjoy! 🙂

What do you expect from a fullstack web framework #babashka #clojure #webdev #nobuild #simpleweb #borkweb

I would like to grow our #borkweb community that's why i encourage all people in the fediverse to push the #borkweb. We have already 65 amazing stars at github and contributions in a really short time. But can we reach 100? Post stuff all over the place and maybe write articles if you like where we are heading. #borkweb aims to be the #rails like framework for #clojure and #babashka. Start small, go big, be simple. #nobuild #webdev #simpleweb #opensource #solodeveloper #framework borkweb.org

Good news everyone #borkweb has now support for simple text mails! html will come soon. Furthermore we have now added to all generated js code the corresponding cljs file reference in a comment at the end. so that users can lookup the code if they like #openweb As always works with #babashka and jvm #clojure #simpleweb #nobuild

@m3tti
Have you looked at any alternative approaches that might align better with your #simpleweb and #nobuild goals? 🤔 There may be simpler, more stable solutions worth considering as well.

Should #borkweb add spec.alpha? #simpleweb #nobuild #webdev

#borkweb news everyone we are currently pushing the topic of email forward. The current work in progress can be found here.

github.com/m3tti/borkweb/tree/

#babashka side uses github.com/tzzh/pod-tzzh-mail

#clojure the well known github.com/drewr/postal

Once again #borkweb is one framework to rule them all ;) #babashka and #clojure #nobuild #minimal #webdev #simpleweb

Hey guys the next update for #borkweb is out. This time we have replaced the frontend dependency of htmx with a clone of kalabasa.github.io/htmz/ in pure clojure/clojurescript. Furthermore the app structure changed so that an upgrade to later versions is way easier now. And there is one last thing ;) all #borkweb apps are now also installable as #pwa

there was an extensive restructuring happening in #borkweb this restructuring happened due to the fact to be easier upgradable. I had issues with my current project. You should check it out ;) #babashka #simpleweb #nobuild #clojure

And the #pwa feature in #borkweb works ;) have fun with it. One small note keep in mind you need https and a valid icon otherwise the pwa won't work ;) #babashka #simpleweb #nobuild #clojure

We should start a learning platform to teach average people to make websites by typing raw HTML/CSS. I think the web would be a better place if more people knew how to write basic HTML/CSS.

@fell there are many people of like mind, myself included. One site I use is NeoCities:

@ramin_hal9001 What I find useful in a CMS:
1. Image/file uploading, naming, finding in the database.
2. Writing posts in markdown, generating HTML
3. RSS feed & archive links
4. Sending to fedi, email, other syndications.
5. Edit history.

I did pure static sites for a few years, then various homebrew PHP bloxsom-likes, now the WP treadmill, because each step of automation made it easier to do more, even tho I still know how to code my site by hand.

My thoughts on “The Static Site Paradox“, by Loris Cro

The article, in summary says this: more technically literate people have simpler websites, usually just static sites generated from even simpler Markdown. Less technically literate people resort to using WordPress, which requires a SQL server, a PHP server, and tons of computing power to deliver to your browser what could be done with a static HTML page with hardly any computing power at all.

This is because technically literate people can afford to do the hard stuff required to setup your own domain, including setting up the server, deciding how to produce content, and the mechanisms to keep content up to date. Everyone else is forced to use services that do all of that leg work for you, but insert a bunch of overly-complicated technology (like WordPress or Drupal), after all they had better deliver all of those flashy features that you saw in the demo, even if you never use 99% of those features. Or worse: people just use Facebook or Twitter as their homepage.

There are alternatives

Sites like https://neocities.org offer static site hosting with a very nice user interface. They have good built-in tools for writing HTML, but I think they lack a good WYSIWYG site editor.
