Most of all good ole Alan Morse appeared to be stoned and disoriented, as often in the past 🤷
But this is what you get from a "feel good prog band" like Spock's Beard.
For me as a very long time fan it was OK and added to the experience, but I guess new visitors might have been bummed.
Nevertheless it was a good concert experience for me, with some songs from the current album, one song from the Nick phase and lots of classics from the Neal phase (here Alan appeared to be a lot more secure with playing the guitar).
For me ⭐⭐⭐ for musical quality, but ❤️❤️❤️❤️ for fan happiness 😉

Sooo, to kick off a weekend of prog music in the Netherlands I started with Spock's Beard in Uden. Haven't seen them a long time (too long) and was really happy and eager to see them again this time around.
The location, De Pul, was pretty small. Which was nice, it certainly added to the atmosphere.
As this was the first concert of their tour (after some years hiatus) you might've expected some hickups. And hickups there were. Trouble with cables, the mix, tight interaction... but most of all you could feel that the band hadn't practiced a lot together.

De nieuwe #SpocksBeard is heerlijk, na twee ronduit teleurstellende albums. Het is dan ook een soort Ryo Okumoto-soloalbum, uitgevoerd met de rest van SB erbij. Geschreven door Okumoto en Michael Whiteman, geproduceerd door Okumoto. Geen John Boegehold te bekennen. Drummer Nick Potters is een aanwinst.

Way back, #SpocksBeard crowdfunded an album of theirs, and promised fans at a certain level of support that their names would be used in a song.
Not sure they expected it to be this dark and glum 😬
That's sick! Just configured a smart playlist in my music app with the (more or less) complete œuvre of prog rock schoolmaster Neal Morse... and I could play 2 days and 16 hours of his stuff! 🙈
And I don't even have everything of him and his bands on my Jellyfin server, "only" 44 albums...
