My chickens are snowed in, my mom is snowed in, and I'm not really, bc of 4wd and good tires, but I'm loathe to go scrape snow and ice off my car in -11°C/13°F windchill. (The chickens are fine. They have food, water, and heating panels in all their coop.)
I'm gonna leave my mom snowed in for today and then tomorrow I'll go dig her out if it hasn't been done yet (see below). Heaven forbid she does anything that requires paramedics etc. to reach her (fortunately she's in good health, so that is unlikely).
Mom doesn't know if the $$$ she pays to the HOA includes snow removal -- because we haven't had a storm like this the entire time she's been up here! I don't want to go do the job in case it does. She's got enough food and power, doesn't need to go anywhere today, and we can FaceTime if she gets super bored.
The wind is slowly coming up. Currently 20mph E sustained, highest gust 33mph.
The good part is that it looks like it'll hit fast, blow hard, then exit fairly quickly.
Hard to believe heavy rain & wind are just a few hours away. It's been a fairly peaceful day.
