Pretty much done with the final touches on the StuG III. I applied gloss varnish on the various periscopes, and played with all three pigments in Tamiya Weathering Master A, sand / light sand / mud.

Maybe the sandiness got taken a bit further than optimal but it looks less plasticy now to me. The camo pattern also looks a bit less silly this way, I hope.

I have to say I enjoy the slightly cartoonish 'scopes quite a bit. Hopefully some grognards choke in their rage 😋

A StuG III model in 1:35, painted in a three-tone camo seen from a high front-left angle.

Its surfaces are dusted with light sand, sand, and mud pigments to make it look like it's been enjoying a summery weather somewhere in a dry corner of Europe and not the Eastern Front. The paintjob has suffered some bullet hits and random scratches by obstacles. All the periscopes are glossy and bright blue so they would stand out nicely.
