#temptower

2026-01-06

Today I learned that asking for help on #3dprinting will immediately result in an avalanche of suggestions to dry my filament. Even if it was just unpacked. From a vacuum sealed bag. That had silica gel in it.

One guy suggested I do a #temptower and looking into the print temperature. ONE GUY!

Turns out lowering the temperature from 250°C to 225°C fixed my problem. As opposed to ordering a €150 #filament #dryer. #Pragmatism for the win.

Here's a video about temp towers and why they're important: youtube.com/watch?v=WR2tRwzFlq0

#3d

Photo of a couple of wheels (part of the CoreBoxx filament addon to the Prusa Core One printer). Left one was printed at 250°C and has a lot of stringing and a bit of gunk. The right one was printed at 225°C and looks near perfect.
