I pulled the plug on The Dead Zone series after an episode in which Johnny prevented an airplane crash. None of the stuff that happened in that episode had any grounding in reality and I just can't anymore.

So I started watching a miniseries version of The Shining that King wrote the screenplay for.

It's shallow and not scary at all. I went online to look up a few things and found out that King hated the Kubrick version. WTF? That's a masterpiece. It's so much better than this miniseries it's practically a different story.

My conclusion: King needs to stop writing screenplays. He is not a screen writer. He's a great author but he isn't able to translate his psychological horror to the big screen. Most people aren't. So much of his work takes place in peoples' heads that it takes a special director to even make a movie come close.
